Three Cups of Tea

Our last book club meet up was a success. We met up to discuss Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. Overall it seems as though the book was very well liked. A few of us did not finish the book. Those of us that have were overwhelmed with what we took away from the powerful story.

The book sends a powerful message about the biases the media and the "war one terror" have created in us. Greg Mortenson allows us the chance to see the Middle East, Pakistan in particular in a whole new light. As peaceful loving people. Who were just as surprised and hurt by the events that took place following September 11th.

The insight he gives and the story he tells drives readers to want to let the world know that the war is not against the Middle East or Muslim people. The war is against terrorists who are terrorizing there own people as well.

It is strongly recommended that everyone read this book. It may be hard to read in some places where landscape and climbing descriptions get lengthy and at times unnecessary but the overall story and lessons are priceless.

Great pick KR!

Next up A's pick: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it is not the type of book I usually read. I was amazed by Greg's passion and determination to follow thru with his dreams.
